Emily Hinds

I share the Climate Mate role with my position as a Horticultural lecturer at Charles Darwin University, as well as running our small family business which is involved in road train cattle transport. I fill in all my spare time completing a Bachelor of Sustainability with the University of New England with my focus on agriculture and the environment.

I have worked on several projects during my career, all with an emphasis on education and change initiatives. Those project topics vary, from agriculture and nutrition in traditional vegetables of Papua New Guinea, to energy efficiency and heat mitigation strategies in the tropics and bioenergy values of local plant species in the NT. I look forward to providing climate information, tools and forecasting to pastoralists and associated cattle industry stakeholders in the Darwin/Katherine/Vic River regions to assist them to make better decisions on properties.
